Senior Accountant / Accounts Manager required with 4 plus years experience for an Accountancy and Business Consultancy company based in Galway.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Management & Technical Delivery
1. Lead the preparation and review of year-end accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, and corporation and income tax filings.
2. Maintain excellent relationships with a portfolio of clients through regular contact, advice, and proactive support.
3. Be the go-to expert for clients with complex technical queries on tax, compliance, or reporting matters.
4. Provide advisory services such as cash flow planning, profit improvement, and restructuring.
Team Leadership & Development
5. Manage, support, and develop junior and intermediate accounting staff, including performance reviews and technical training.
6. Ensure high standards of accuracy and compliance through structured review processes and coaching.
Practice Development & Strategy
7. Work closely with the Partners to identify growth opportunities, improve internal systems, and deliver strategic projects.
8. Play a hands-on role in business development, including proposals, onboarding, and new service lines.
9. Implement and optimise workflows using best-in-class accounting and cloud tools (Surf, Relate, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, .
Requirements:
10. ACA / ACCA / CPA qualified (or equivalent)
11. Minimum 4 years' recent experience in an Irish accountancy practice
12. Excellent technical knowledge of Irish GAAP, Corporation Tax, Income Tax, and VAT
13. Exposure to specialist sectors such as construction, hospitality, or medical an advantage.
14. Demonstrated experience managing a team and a portfolio of clients
15. Highly proficient in cloud-based and traditional accounting platforms
16. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and document management systems
