Job Title: Global Security Specialist
We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Global Security Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting and strengthening our safety and security management practice.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security risk management, with experience working in insecure environments for a humanitarian organization. You will be responsible for undertaking security reviews and audits, developing contextual knowledge of assigned regions, and delivering security management training to staff and partners.
Key responsibilities include:
* Undertaking security reviews and audits of countries' security and safety management practices
* Developing in-depth contextual knowledge of assigned regions to support country teams' analysis
* Delivering security management training to staff and partners
* Supporting the delivery of online HEAT training
* Assisting countries in developing, preparing, and reviewing Security Management Plans (SMP) and scenario planning for major events
* Managing the Concern security incident database (SIRT) and sharing information about incidents with appropriate staff and international security databases
Salary: GB6 / €57,683 - €64,092
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Minimum of five years' experience of working in insecure environments for a humanitarian organization
* Fluent spoken and written English
* Proficiency in French required; proficiency in Arabic would also be an advantage
* Detailed knowledge of INGO security management approaches and practice
* Good understanding of humanitarian principles and practice
