Role Overview
The role of Clinical Coordinator in our healthcare unit involves overseeing the daily activities and operations of the inpatient unit on assigned shifts.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
* Coordinate patient care services by directing daily operations and ensuring a seamless workflow.
* Assess staff competencies and assign tasks accordingly, adhering to legal and professional guidelines.
* Communicate effectively with Nurse Managers and colleagues to identify and address any issues promptly.
Clinical Expertise
* Familiarity with The Scope of Nursing and Midwifery Practice Framework 2015.
* Understanding of Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) regulations.
Leadership and Management
* Responsible for timely identification and communication of any operational issues to senior management.
* Act on behalf of Nurse Managers when they are away from the ward, attending meetings and addressing concerns.
Team Supervision
* Assign patient loads based on skill mix requirements.
* Oversee direct and indirect patient care activities of Staff Nurses, HCAs, and unit receptionists.
This position requires a high level of confidence and competence in delivering quality patient-focused care. Efficiency in documentation is essential, as is maintaining a professional portfolio.
