The Childhood Development Initiative (CDI) is looking for members to join our Business Development & Communications Committee, a subcommittee of CDI's Board of Directors. The purpose of the committee is to support CDI's Business Development Strategy development and implementation. This includes supporting the growth of CDI's Training and Consultancy Service.
We are looking for members with expertise in at least one of the following areas:
Social enterprise
Business development in the non-profit or corporate sector
Corporate Social Responsibility
Product Growth and Scaling

Business Development and Communications Committee Responsibilities: The primary role of the Business Development Committee (BDC) is to guide and support CDI's Business Development function, including CDI's training and consultancy service.
More Specifically, The Committee
Provides support, direction and focus for CDI's business development function
Supports the development of the business development strategy, including identifying appropriate targets for diversified income sources and the growth of CDI's Training and Consultancy Service.
Shares networks and contacts to establish opportunities for introducing CDI, presenting speculative proposals or establishing service design and delivery partnerships
May provide a challenge function to draft proposals, tenders or speculative service ideas
Brings commercial expertise and ethos to CDI where it is required to build the CDI Training and Consultancy Service
Ensures business development decisions remain aligned with CDI's Strategy and consistent with its values and ethos
Reports to the Board on quarterly, annual and three-year targets, issues arising and any additional information
Makes recommendations to the Board. The Board may delegate decision-making to the Committee as it sees appropriate.
Frequency of Meeting
The Business Development Committee meets quarterly.
