Job Title: Support Worker for Independent Living
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in providing high-quality support services to individuals with disabilities.
Job Description:
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in promoting the development of independent living skills and assisting service users in their daily living within a supported accommodation service. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and well-being of our service users at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collate, assess, and intervene in information and expertise to develop an individualized community support service.
* Document information, update records, and complete necessary paperwork for communication and accountability purposes.
* Ensure all interaction with clients is approached with dignity, respect, equality, and incorporates choice.
* Deliver a quality service by designing, implementing, and reviewing quality monitoring systems appropriate to the requirements of each individual.
* Provide personal assistance in all aspects of everyday living skills, carrying out any duties necessary to ensure the comfort and hygiene of clients.
* Enshrine the concept of independent living by assisting clients in selecting their meal menu, cooking, and eating, promoting personal choice at all times.
* Facilitate and enable clients to integrate with the local community and access local resources.
* Assist with catering, cleaning, and general domestic duties in clients' homes.
* Ensure the privacy and confidentiality of clients at all times.
* Work within the stated policies and procedures of the organization.
Requirements:
* Third-level graduate in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable.
* Attendance at training as deemed appropriate by management.
* Minimum 2 years' previous experience of working with people with disabilities.
* A clear understanding of the philosophy of independent living and community integration.
* Good communication skills and the ability to self-direct.
* Experience of working with service users in a community environment.
* Experience of providing appropriate supports to service users with relevant disabilities.
* Experience of working within remote teams and facilitating person-centered plans.
