Staff Nurse role at Silver Stream Healthcare Group


Job Description

As a Staff Nurse, you will supervise and provide comprehensive nursing care, ensuring the health and comfort of residents. You should thrive in a nurturing environment and be passionate about delivering high standards of care.


Roles & Responsibilities

* Managing residents\' admissions, discharges, and medication administration in line with best practices.
* Developing individual care plans using a person-centred approach.
* Ensuring the accurate and timely recording of Care Notes and Plans.
* Maintaining high standards of resident care and hygiene.
* Supervising mealtimes, attending to feeding requirements, and performing necessary personal care tasks.
* Assisting with in-house training, emergency response, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Assume responsibility on each shift for the nursing care of allocated residents.
* Plan and deliver a high standard of evidence-based, individualised care.
* Lead a team of Healthcare Assistants, allocate duties, and ensure performance standards.
* Evaluate resident care needs and, with the multidisciplinary team, implement and evaluate individualised care plans.
* Adhere to procedures and guidelines in place.
* Maintain clear, concise and accurate records in the home in accordance with legislation.
* Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
* Perform procedures accurately, completely, and safely.
* Build strong relationships with residents to understand their needs and foster trust.
* Knowledge and awareness of HIQA standards and ability to participate in inspection processes.
* Shifts rostered Monday to Sunday, including night duty.


Requirements

* Registered on the Irish live register (NMBI). Must have active PIN.
* Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
* 1 year nursing experience (preferred).
* Experience of HIQA Standards and Health Act Regulations 2013.
* Strong clinical and communication skills.
* IT skills; computer literate in Outlook, Word and Excel.
* Fluent in English (verbal and written).
* Proven attention to detail and follow-through.
