Full Job Description
Our client, a Semi State body based in Dublin city, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join their team initially on a contract basis.
Role & Purpose:
Provide the financial control requirements for the IM business, covering budgetary control, financial planning, forecast management, and periodic reporting of the IM Balance Sheet.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to: Head of Finance. This role will also work closely with Finance Managers and non-finance staff across other business units.
General Responsibilities:
* Preparation & analysis of periodic Balance Sheet, Working Capital & Cashflow reports for internal and external use.
* Produce key periodic reports across all sections of the Balance Sheets.
* Develop new reports for managing Balance Sheet items as required.
* Preparation of budgets, forecasts & 5-year plans annually.
* Complete financial year-end tasks.
* Liaise with internal & external auditors regarding audit queries and recommendations.
* Ensure effective internal controls within the business unit.
* Review and update documentation related to control processes & procedures.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and streamline workflows.
* Collaborate with key business managers on Balance Sheet control issues.
* Respond to queries from stakeholders.
* Oversee implementation of management actions in response to audit recommendations.
* Participate in design, planning, and user acceptance testing (UAT) of new systems.
* Provide information according to the reporting calendar.
* Manage Fixed Assets, Stock, Debtors & Creditors, Provision Accounts for IM.
* Perform periodic reconciliations of Balance Sheet items including Trade Creditors, GR/IR, Intercompany Balances, & Supplier Advanced Payments.
* Advise the Business Finance Team on FRS102 updates.
People & Qualities:
Lead and support staff, communicate effectively, work as part of a team, and contribute to staff development.
Key Qualities:
* Professional accounting qualification with a minimum of 7 years PQE.
* Proven IT skills, especially SAP (FI, CO, MM, PS).
* Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
* Ability to produce high-quality, timely financial reports.
* Leadership, ownership, and initiative.
* Detailed understanding of FRS102 and taxation guidelines (PAYE, VAT, BIK).
Desirable Skills:
* Problem solving and change management experience.
* Knowledge of SAP ERP systems and upgrades.
