Gracy's Bistro is seeking a reliable, passionate, conscientious, organised and detail-oriented Prep Chef to join our kitchen team.
This role is essential to the daily flow of service and allows the team to deliver excellent food consistently in a busy fast paced environment and ensuring through professionalism, pride and team spirit that the customer has a fantastic experience.
Principle Responsibilities To ensure that food prep is done and organised for service done with passion, pride and attention to detail.
To work alongside and take direction from senior chef and work to recipes etc so there is consistency in the food served.
To Maintain cleanliness to a very high Haccp standard using our Kelsius system (training will be given) and organization of fridges, prep and storage areas Assist within the kitchen when required or as needed.
Correctly apply Haccp principles throughout the kitchen, correctly labelling and dating products and storing all food items Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards Stock rotation and ordering to be done in conjunction with Chef ensuring good stock management and minimal food wastage To engage with all staff members in a respectful manner and to have a positive attitude, ensuring a good working environment and pleasant working environment This job description is not intended to be either prescriptive or exhaustive; it is issued as a framework to outline main areas of responsibilities at the time of writing.
Required Qualifications Previous kitchen or food prep experience in a busy environment, Hotel, contract services or high volume/banqueting type business, cafe etc Strong knife skills and attention to detail Super organised and the ability to work on own initiative.
Self-starter and positive helpful attitude Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment giving and taking direction to deliver great food and customer experience Team-oriented with a positive attitude Punctual, dependable, and organized A sense of pride and personal presentation always Excellent application of Haccp procedures throughout the kitchen to ensure safe food practices in all areas.
