Recruitment: Payroll Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our HR & Payroll Services team in Kilkenny. This role is central to our outsourced payroll service, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our clients.
The Role
The Payroll Specialist will process end‑to‑end payrolls for a portfolio of clients, maintaining compliance with legislation and delivering high-quality client service.
Key Responsibilities
Process end‑to‑end payrolls, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
Calculate and input all payroll data including new hires, terminations, statutory deductions, benefits, and adjustments.
Maintain compliance with statutory requirements: taxation, social insurance, and employment legislation.
Process and submit Revenue Returns (RPNs, PSRs) and PAYE/PRSI/USC liabilities on strict deadlines.
Continuously improve implementation cycle time.
Act as point of contact for assigned clients, managing queries and providing payroll advice.
Liaise with clients to resolve payroll issues and maintain stellar service levels.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including other IFAC offices and regional teams.
Support onboarding of new clients and ensure accurate setup.
Conduct peer review of payroll processed by junior colleagues and provide coaching.
Collaborate with colleagues to deliver consistent, high‑quality service in a fast‑paced environment.
Support payroll system updates and identify efficiencies and automation opportunities.
Contribute to team and departmental projects within deadlines.
You Will Have
Minimum 3‑4 years of payroll experience, ideally in an outsourced payroll environment.
IPASS qualification (essential).
Third‑level qualification in Payroll, HR, Finance, or related discipline (desirable).
Strong technical payroll knowledge and understanding of compliance.
Good planning, organisational and time‑management skills.
Ability to work autonomously and seek assistance when required.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
