Job Description
We are seeking a registered Optometrist to support our diabetic eye screening teams in and around Limerick county. This is a full-time opportunity, working Monday to Friday with no weekend work.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess patients using indirect ophthalmoscopy techniques and grade them according to the grading protocol.
* Contribute to the patient's pathway through the screening/grading process, ensuring timely triage and accurate download of patient information daily.
* Operate in accordance with company policies and procedures, adapting to changing needs as required.
* Undertake administration tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.
* Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance skills and career progression through accredited courses and training sessions.
* Maintain a patient-centered focus, delivering exceptional care within the diabetic eye screening programme.
* Support local programme and company efforts in administration, audits, quality control, and service improvement initiatives to surpass national standards.
* The role covers Co. Limerick and surrounding counties, requiring occasional travel.
Essential Qualifications:
* CORU registration as an Optometrist.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with computer data input.
* Ability to demonstrate initiative, prioritize tasks, and apply problem-solving skills under minimal supervision.
* Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams and with patients.
* Previous experience working with the public and ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to infection control protocols.
* A valid full driving license and access to personal transportation for travel within the programme area.
* Desirable: proficiency in the Irish language or any other language.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, requiring applicants to disclose previous cautions and convictions and undergo enhanced disclosure checks upon entry and every three years thereafter.
