Job Title: Junior Cleaner & Waste Operative
Location: Cental Engineering, Carlow

Overview
As part of our commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional factory environment, Cental Engineering is seeking a Junior Cleaner & Waste Operative to support cleaning duties and waste management routines within our modular build facility.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their career or entering the workforce who is reliable, energetic, and eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Cleaning Support
* Assist with day-to-day cleaning of production zones, walkways, and welfare areas.
* Refill cleaning stations, remove debris from production areas, and maintain basic order across the factory floor.
* Support in implementing factory-wide 5S standards (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardise, Sustain).
* Take initiative to address untidy or unsafe conditions promptly and report issues to the lead cleaner.
Waste Management Assistance
* Help with the collection and movement of general, recyclable, and hazardous waste under supervision.
* Ensure bins and waste stations are emptied, relined, and maintained in designated areas.
* Learn proper waste segregation practices and help label and organise waste storage areas.
* Support in monitoring materials such as used PPE, cardboard, Steel offcuts, and paint containers.
Health, Safety & Environmental Support
* Follow all safety procedures related to cleaning, waste handling, and chemical management.
* Wear appropriate PPE at all times and attend required training sessions.
* Report hazards or unsafe practices promptly to supervisors or EHS team.
* Participate in toolbox talks and EHS briefings relevant to your role.

* Willingness to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
* Punctual, dependable, and able to follow instructions closely.
* Physically fit – capable of standing, walking, and manual handling throughout the shift.
* A good attitude and desire to contribute positively to the factory environment.
* Eagerness to learn and develop in a structured, team-oriented role.
Desirable
* Previous cleaning, general operative, or warehouse experience an advantage but not required.
* Interest in waste, recycling, or factory operations.
* Forklift license or willingness to pursue one (training pathway may be supported).
