Role Overview
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the full financial management of the business, reporting directly to senior leadership. You will play a key role in supporting strategic decisions, ensuring compliance, driving efficiency, and supporting continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all financial operations including month-end, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting
* Produce and present timely and accurate management accounts
* Manage financial audits and ensure full compliance with statutory and tax requirements
* Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and credit control
* Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures
* Develop performance dashboards and KPIs for key departments
* Liaise with external advisors, banks, and auditors as required
* Provide strategic financial input to support business planning and expansion
* Support the roll-out of financial systems or ERP improvements
* Manage and mentor a small finance team (if applicable)
Candidate Requirements
* Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA or equivalent preferred)
* 5+ years' experience in a senior finance role, ideally with experience as a Financial Controller
* Experience in construction, energy, renewables, or related sectors would be a plus but is not required
* Strong understanding of Irish tax and financial regulations
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or ERP systems)
* High level of accuracy, analytical ability, and attention to detail
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
* Proactive mindset, with the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes
* Based within commuting distance of Midleton, Cork (hybrid role after 3-month office onboarding period)
