About Avista
Avista provides community and campus-based services to persons with an Intellectual Disability. The successful candidate will demonstrate clinical competence in Intellectual Disability Nursing and have a broad base of clinical experience in Autism/Behaviour Support. The successful candidate will pursue registration as a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Intellectual Disability: Autism/Behaviour Support with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) as per Advanced Practice requirements.
Responsibilities and duties
* Work within the Specialist Team in Autism/Positive Behaviour Support across Avista Services.
* Deliver on Avista’s strategic objective to provide specialist services.
Essential qualifications and attributes
* Be a Registered Nurse in Intellectual Disability (RNID) with NMBI or be entitled to be registered.
* Broad clinical experience relevant to Autism/Behaviour Support in Intellectual Disability.
* Registered in the Advanced Nurse Practitioner division of NMBI.
* Maintain active annual registration on the Advanced Nurse Practitioner Division with NMBI.
* Confirm Annual registration with NMBI to the HSE via the Annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Knowledge, skills and abilities
* High standard of suitability and clinical, professional, and administrative capacity to discharge the role.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and caseload management skills.
* Commitment to a person-centered approach, community inclusion and individual needs.
* Ability to work effectively with families and a multi-disciplinary team.
* Knowledge of Health Act 2007 Regulations 2013, Shaping the Future of Intellectual Disability Nursing (2018), Sláintecare (2017).
* Full driving license and access to own transport.
