About the role:
Reporting to and assisting an excellent senior management team, you will be responsible for:
* overseeing the operational finance team
* ensuring the successful close of the monthly close process
* Preparation of year-end accounts and engagement with external auditor
* Provide insightful financial analysis, including budget-vs-actual commentary and cash-flow management
* Drive forecasting, business planning, and continuous process improvements
* Proactive improvement of internal controls & processes
* support on adhoc projects as they arise.
About the person:
* The successful individual will be a fully qualified accountant, with 5+ years PQE, ideally working in a hands on Controller position in an SME environment.
* Proven skills and experience in financial planning and strategy, forecasting, reporting and presentation of financial information, promoting process improvement and meeting regulatory requirements at board level
* Experience in business partnering
* A high level of commercial awareness and strategic thinking skills are essential for the role
* Strong leadership skills and provide mentoring coaching to peers, direct reports and new staff
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Intellectual curiosity when it comes to the business and business performance.
