We are recruiting an Actuarial Trainee (part qualified) to join our AXA Ireland Risk Team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team providing actuarial support to AXA Ireland across Capital and wider Risk functions to ensure profitability and financial soundness.

At AXA, we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team, and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients, or attending industry events.


Responsibilities

* Reporting to the Capital Management Actuary, responsible for providing actuarial services to the Business, including:
* Assisting with the capital calculation processes for the Internal Model of AXA Insurance dac, primarily using ReMetrica.
* Engaging in regular data and reporting work, as well as project work.
* Assisting in independent reserve reviews to provide a second opinion on reserve level recommendations, considering business trends, external market considerations, regulatory and accounting standards, and internal risk appetite.
* Supporting coordination, organization, and maintenance of business processes requiring capital/reserving input, including Strategic Planning, Regulatory reporting, Reinsurance, ORSA, Economic performance target setting, and stress & scenario testing.


Qualifications

* Actively studying for actuarial exams with a relevant degree in Actuarial Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics.
* Previous exposure to actuarial-related work is preferred.
* Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, or SAS for data manipulation and processing.
* Strong work ethic with the ability to balance work demands and study commitments.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of conveying technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
* Ability to apply analytical problem-solving skills, make recommendations, and implement improvements in a dynamic environment.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
* Responsibility and accountability for own work, with the ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
* Must be eligible and authorized to work in Ireland and/or the UK.
