Job Title: Product Development Specialist
The Product Development Specialist collaborates with the Operations Team to ensure seamless product execution, efficiency, and innovation.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Develop effective work procedures by creating Routers & Operations sheets to guarantee requirements are clearly outlined.
* Review Engineering Standardization (ES) documents and related records to identify and implement changes affecting company products according to established documentation review processes.
* Audit the repair process for compliance with specified procedures.
* Promote adherence to best practices to deliver robust processes in product repair.
* Determine and control process stability using Critical-To-Quality (CTQ) metrics.
* Establish and Implement Daily, Weekly, Monthly TPM checks with Maintenance.
* Lead investigations into process problems, implementing corrective actions where deviations occur.
* Investigate and document written reports on non-conformances related to product quality.
* ID opportunities for product repair cost improvements to achieve agreed targets.
* Obtain internal & external approvals for process improvement modifications.
* Measure and monitor Rework costs and reasons, working with the team to achieve target reductions.
* Measure and monitor Scrap quantities and reasons, working with the team to minimize scrap rates.
* Define specifications for new equipment purchases/modifications and sign off on qualification/acceptance.
* Implement Process Improvements and monitor successful achievement of proposed savings.
* Liaison Issue Inspection Reports to Customers Provide technical support to Team members, i.e. dispositioning of parts Provide technical support to Commercial, i.e. definition of workscopes Provide Technical Support to Quality, i.e. investigation of warranty returns Provide Technical Support to Production, i.e. procurement of equipment, support to Maintenance.
Requirements:
• Degree level preferably in Materials or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 years plus experience in an Engineering role.
• Ability to comprehend complex processes involving multiple disciplines.
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
• Confident and effective decision maker.
• Methodical and structured approach to establishing hand assessing process stability i.e. Lean / 6 Sigma.
• Excellent presentation skills and written/verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in solving problems within intricate environments.
• Coordinating and overseeing project activities experience is essential.
• Meticulous attention to detail and expertise in documenting processes.
