Position
ORIX Aviation is looking for a highly motivated IT Engineer reporting to the Head of Business Alignment and Information Technology. The role will be responsible for support of end users across ORIX Aviation and day‑to‑day management of the system administration including installation, configuration, maintenance, operations and security of enterprise information systems and supporting and maintaining our company’s IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* IT Infrastructure Management: Managing, maintaining and securing company servers in both Azure and hosted environments, alongside network and systems. Management and support of future cloud migration projects to migrate hosted servers to Azure cloud environment.
* Implementation Support: Support the implementation of new IT hardware and applications, liaising with internal stakeholders and vendors.
* Release Management: Managing the deployment of new software, and updates, from planning and testing to rollout.
* Maintaining System Security: Implement and manage firewalls, antivirus software and security policies to protect systems and hybrid infrastructure from cyber threats. Oversee data backup and disaster recovery plans, including testing of same to ensure data is safe and can be quickly restored if required.
* Patching and Vulnerability Management: Ensuring all systems and servers are kept‑up‑date and secure by identifying, testing and deployment new software versions and security patches to prevent vulnerabilities.
* System Administration: Execute standard tasks such as reviewing system logs, monitoring jobs, and responding to system alerts.
* First Point of Contact: Act as the initial contact for all IT queries.
* End‑User IT Support: Respond to IT support issues and queries, ensuring timely response to all issues and appropriate resolutions.
* Incident Management: Handle IT requests and incident reports, prioritizing and escalating as necessary.
* User Account Management: Manage IT employee onboarding and offboarding processes including laptop setup and all user access to systems and network including user permissions ensuring adherence to company policies. This also involves resetting passwords, updating security credentials, and troubleshooting login issues.
* Hardware and Software Support: Provide support for hardware (desktops, laptops, smart devices) and software application installations.
* Documentation: Create and maintain IT process documents, troubleshooting guides and training materials.
* Team Support: Assist the wider IT team with the development, testing, and transition of new or upgraded applications and services.
* Other Duties: Carry out any other duties as required.
Essential Qualifications
* 2+ years in an IT Engineer or IT System Administrator role, with proven experience providing support to end users at all levels.
* Microsoft Expertise: Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender for Endpoint and other Microsoft cloud technologies.
* Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and PowerShell scripting.
* Troubleshooting Skills: Exceptional troubleshooting skills to analyse issues, identify root causes and evaluate and implement solutions.
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Project Management: Ability to manage projects, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
* Problem‑Solving Skills: A proactive approach to identifying challenges and proposing innovative solutions.
* Attention to Detail: Precision in analysing requirements and ensuring solutions address business needs.
* Adaptability: Ability to quickly adjust to changing priorities.
* Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and encourage teamwork.
* Cyber Security: Good understanding of cybersecurity best practices with the ability to implement robust security measures.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in both Azure and hosted infrastructure environments.
* Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or similar.
