This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in advancing the vision set out in the All-Island Strategic Rail Review which seeks to enhance connectivity, support sustainable growth and transform the role of rail across Ireland. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will contribute to the planning and development of major rail projects that align with national transport, housing, and climate objectives.Applications are invited for the position of Transport Planning / Economic Analyst within the Capital Investments Department. This role will report into the Senior Transport Economist, Transport Planning and will involve the following:Support the delivery of a suite of project and programme appraisals in compliance with the Infrastructure Guidelines and other relevant sectoral guidanceEnsure all designated statutory and, where relevant, non-statutory consultations are responded to in a timely mannerDevelop transport planning opportunities and contribute to ad hoc policy reviews/reforms to enable enhanced rail services, including working with external stakeholdersAssist in the development of team capability through research and briefingEssential Requirements:Third Level Qualification (transport, economics, sustainability, strategy, or business degree desirable)Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar roleHighly numerate and comfortable working with financial dataAbility to deliver to multiple project deadlines simultaneouslyAn ability to analyse complex information, applying commercial judgementStrong communication skillsAbility to establish and maintain relationships with people at all levelsAbility to present information clearly and effectivelyDesirable Requirements:Experience in a transport planning functionUnderstanding and experience of transport appraisals in line with the requirements of the Infrastructure Guidelines and relevant sectoral guidance, or in line with another comparable international appraisal guidanceExperience using the National Transport Authority's Regional Modelling System (RMS) and Transport Infrastructure Ireland's National Transport Model (NTpM) and/or other comparable transport modelling toolsExperience in preparing presentations and external strategy documentsInterview Competencies:AnalyticalPlanningCommunicationStrategic focusCommercialDrivenApplications, a full job description and salary details are available upon request at: Please note when e-mailing applications that you state clearly:The Name on CVThe position applied for in the subject boxA competency-based interview will form part of this selection process.
