Our client, a leading Irish manufacturer of high-performance architectural building components, is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their innovative and collaborative engineering team. Based in North Dublin, this is a fantastic opportunity for a structural engineer with reinforced concrete and façade design experience to take ownership of complex, high-profile projects across commercial, healthcare, residential and leisure sectors.
Key Responsibilities of Design Engineer:
1. Lead and coordinate structural design deliverables on projects.
2. Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed design solutions for precast façade systems.
3. Liaising and co-ordinating with external design team members.
4. Liaising with clients and their representatives (. architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.
5. Lead design team meetings as required.
6. Drive process improvement and contribute to continuous innovation.
7. Responsible for coaching and managing the career development of junior team members, targeted to improve both their behavioural and functional competencies.
8. Monitor team progress with regular reviews and performance feedback.
Key Requirements:
9. Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
10. Chartered Structural Engineer with 10+ years' post-graduate experience, ideally in façades or precast design.
11. Strong leadership skills with experience managing design teams.
12. Strong working knowledge of Eurocodes, building regulations, and façade detailing.
13. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
14. Proficiency in BIM systems, MS Office, and project management tools; Tekla Structural Designer experience an advantage.
15. Solid understanding of construction practices and structural design principles.
16. Occasional travel to UK/Ireland project sites may be required.
