Purpose of Role: to provide a range of services to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities and/or autism in a residential setting. All care is person-centered and provides a holistic service in partnership with the person's circle of support.

Essential Criteria
Permission to work in Ireland
One year experience in a healthcare or disability support setting
Relevant Social Care qualification (e.g., B.A. in Social Care, Fetac Level 7, or other CORU accepted qualifications)
Registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU, or commitment to complete registration by end of November 2025, or two years’ experience in the last 5 years with application to register underway
Full clean driver’s licence
Desirable Experience
Experience working in a residential setting
Working knowledge of regulatory compliance and HIQA standards
Experience/knowledge of report writing and client support plans
Candidate Skills & Experience
Ability to support the client group in a respectful way, keeping the client’s goals and needs central
Understanding of how to prevent and manage challenging behaviour
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Comfortable using essential information technology and providing reports
Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Support service users with intellectual/physical disability and autism
Help service users make sense of their environment, learn new skills and maximise independence
Assist with daily living activities and personal care, including continence if required
Support health and wellbeing; promote meaningful living and equal citizenship
Facilitate participation and integration into the community
Act as advocate for clients/residents
Promote participation in care/placement plan formulation and execution
Accompany service users to appointments and events as required
Assist those with reduced mobility
Undertake duties assigned by manager/team leader to support care of service users
Manage challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support plans
Provide reports on client activities to management
Attend staff meetings and contribute constructively to care plan implementation
