Overview of the Role
The Financial Controller will have overall responsibility for the financial environment within the Group, providing a comprehensive range of services to all departments.
Role Profile
Reporting directly to the Dealer Principal/General Manager, the Financial Controller will be a key member of the management team, working alongside all other senior managers and departments in setting strategic direction of the Group.
The Financial Controller will have direct responsibility for the Group's financial and management accounting function, overseeing and leading monthly and annual reporting, driving budget and supporting long-term financial strategy.
Additionally, this role will encompass responsibility for specific commercial development initiatives and project activities across the group, playing a pivotal role in the organisation of financial funding to support the group's continued expansion.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not restricted to the following:
· Managing the finance team, ensuring co-ordination and delivery of internal and external reporting requirements
· Provision of leadership to the accounting team on technical accounting matters
· Preparation, analysis and oversight of the Group's Financial Statements
· Preparation and presentation of the Group's monthly Management Accounts
· Lead the annual audit process in conjunction with the assigned statutory auditor, ensuring audit requirements are met in a timely manner
· Responsibility for the Group's taxation affairs, liaising closely with the Group tax advisors
· Ensuring financial controls are effective and being appropriately applied throughout the Group
· Provision of leadership and coaching to the accounting team
· Leading the assessment of business development opportunities that arise from time to time
· Supporting business development activities including contract negotiation
· Managing and supporting teams to ensure staff receive continuing training and development
· Liaising with the various Brands to ensure that all incentives are maximised and paid out in a timely manner
· Reporting to the respective Brands on a monthly basis
· Oversee financial operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements (PAYE, PRSI, VAT and Corporate Tax)
· Delivery of management reports, supporting cost control and business decision-making
· Collaborate with business leaders to provide data-driven insights and identify performance improvement opportunities
· Review VAT returns and support corporate tax preparation
· Champion continuous improvement and help drive innovation in systems and processes
· Supporting with payroll management and processing
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess a primary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely related discipline, and hold a professional accounting qualification.
A minimum of ten years' post-qualification experience, in a comparable role, within an organisation of similar scale and complexity, is desirable.
