About the Role
As a skilled Automation Engineer, you will play a vital role in enhancing our site's automation capabilities by leveraging the latest technologies and implementing them where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and manage automation systems for new and existing products.
* Project manage new product development/introduction projects when required.
* Collaborate with various departments on improvement initiatives and support new business opportunities.
* Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) guidance on new product developments and assist in problem-solving and issue resolution on existing lines as needed.
Responsibilities also include leading new automation projects from concept development to full production, including sourcing integration partners and developing builds.
Requirements
* A degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Mechatronics or automation-related field).
* At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar design/project management engineering role in manufacturing or equipment build environments.
* Excellent equipment knowledge and process debug/troubleshoot skills.
Desirable qualifications include excellent communication and influencing skills, good knowledge of PLC programming, pneumatics, robotics, product assembly techniques, label applicators, laser marking, tooling design, 6-sigma green belt, lean practice implementation, and project management qualification.
