Maintenance Fitter | Heavy Duty | Co Cork Join a highly industrious and rapidly growing manufacturing organisation based in North Cork, where you'll play a key role in keeping a busy, high-performing plant running at its best.
This is an ideal role for a skilled Maintenance Fitter who enjoys problem-solving, working with heavy plant, and contributing to a proactive maintenance culture.
The Role As part of the maintenance team, you will support the smooth and safe operation of the plant, carrying out mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance across a wide range of equipment.
You'll work closely with production and maintenance personnel to minimise downtime and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Carry out mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs across plant equipment.
Conduct inspections, diagnose issues, and respond quickly to breakdowns.
Complete planned preventative maintenance (weekly, monthly, bi-annual checks).
Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with compliance standards.
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and equipment updates.
Promote strong teamwork and effective communication across departments.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Key Requirements Time-served Maintenance Fitter with qualifications in Mechanical Automation, Manufacturing Maintenance, Toolmaking, or related fields.
5+ years' experience in heavy plant/industrial environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with preventative maintenance systems and troubleshooting.
Ability to work proactively, use own initiative, and manage tasks effectively.
