Job Description
Role Purpose
The Healthcare SNA provides essential support to patients or residents with physical, intellectual, or sensory disabilities.
Your primary goal is to assist with daily living activities, implement care plans, and ensure the safety and well-being of those under your care in a clinical or residential environment.

Key Responsibilities
Direct Patient Support:
Assist with mobility, feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene, always ensuring the dignity of the patient.
Care Plan Execution:
Work closely with the multidisciplinary team (Physios, Nurses, OTs) to carry out specific therapeutic exercises or behavioural support strategies.
Safety & Monitoring:
Maintain a safe environment for patients with complex needs; monitor for changes in condition and report immediately to the nursing staff.
Social Engagement:
Provide emotional support and encourage participation in social or recreational activities to improve quality of life.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate, confidential records of patient progress and daily observations in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
Relevant certification in Healthcare Support, Disability Studies, or Special Education (e.g., QQI Level 5/6 or equivalent).
Experience:
Previous experience working with individuals with complex needs or in a healthcare setting is highly preferred.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to assist with manual handling and remain active throughout the shift (Manual Handling certification is often required).
Communication:
Clear verbal and written communication skills for effective handovers.
