eir evo talent are seeking applications for a technically curious engineer to support the configuration and optimisation of Akamai App & API Protector. This is a long-term embedded role, working closely with internal security and application teams to strengthen their application and API protection posture.
You don’t need to be an Akamai expert to apply. If you’ve got a solid grasp of web technologies and a hunger to learn, you’ll be supported with internal resources and direct access to Akamai’s technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the configuration, tuning, and daily operation of Akamai App & API Protector
* Assist in reviewing and adjusting security policies for web apps and APIs
* Monitor alerts and events, and support incident investigations
* Respond to WAF‑related issues and change requests
* Identify opportunities for rule tuning and improved visibility
* Document rule sets, policy changes, and operational processes
* Collaborate with Akamai and internal teams to support secure rollout of protected apps
* Engage in continuous learning around Akamai technologies
Skills & Attributes
* Strong foundational understanding of HTTP/S, APIs, DNS, TLS
* Awareness of OWASP Top 10 and web application security risks
* Analytical mindset with solid troubleshooting skills
* Comfortable working within structured change/incident processes
* Clear communicator and team player
* Willingness to learn new tools and technologies on the job
Desirable Experience
* Exposure to Akamai services (e.g., Kona Site Defender, Edge DNS)
* Experience with CDN, WAF, or API Gateway platforms
* Familiarity with alerting, logging, and monitoring tools
* Background supporting enterprise web applications or public APIs
Working Model
* Embedded within internal support teams
* Long‑term support model (not time‑boxed)
* Collaboration with Akamai as strategic vendor
