Brothers Of Charity Services Ireland LIMERICK REGION Applications are invited for the following position:
Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Autism For Adults with Intellectual Disability (ID)
Grade Code 2627.

Permanent Full-time Post (75/75)
Eligibility Criteria: Persons applying for this must have, at the latest date for receipt of completed applications for the post:
Essential: Be a Registered Nurse Intellectual Disability (RNID) on the live Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais Na hÉireann (NMBI) and have a minimum of 1 year's post-registration full-time experience (or an aggregate of 1 year's full-time experience) in the RNID division of the register.
Have at least 1 year's experience working with adults with Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder, including experience with behaviours that challenge.
Experience supporting individuals during significant transitions, such as moving from secondary education to adult services, is an advantage.
Have successfully completed a post-registration programme of study, verified by the education provider, achieving a QQI, NFQ Level 9 or higher award relevant to the care area (equivalent to 60 ECTS or above), aligned with the standards set by the National Council for Nursing and Midwifery (2008).
Alternatively, provide evidence of ECTS credits equivalent to Level 9 or higher relevant to ASD in Adult ID, as per the same standards.
Nurses with a Level 8 qualification in the specialist area (also 60 ECTS or above) will have their qualification recognized until September 2026.
Demonstrate ongoing professional development (CPD) relevant to the specialist area.
Ability to practice safely and effectively within scope of practice.
Good character, with the requisite knowledge, clinical, leadership, managerial, and administrative capacity.
Suitable health status to perform duties effectively.
Thorough understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and evidence-based ASD approaches.
Ability to work within a team and with the wider multidisciplinary team.
Approachable, self-directed, efficient, and flexible working style.
Fluent in oral and written English, with good presentation skills.
IT proficiency is essential.
Ability to uphold the core concepts of the CNS role and represent the RNID profession.
Full Irish Driver License required for travel within Limerick city and county.
