My client, a leading catering and food service provider, is seeking a skilled Chef Manager to oversee a small on-site canteen within a busy workplace in Co. Meath.
Position Overview:
As the Chef Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the canteen, including menu planning, food preparation, stock management, and food safety compliance. This hands-on role requires a passionate and experienced chef who can lead a small team, deliver quality meals, and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
This is a full-time, permanent position operating Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, offering a competitive salary of €40,000 per year, with a strong emphasis on work-life balance.
This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.
Requirements
* Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Chef Manager or in a similar role
* Strong culinary skills with experience in a high-volume catering or canteen setting
* Proven ability to lead a team and manage daily kitchen operations
* Excellent knowledge of food safety and HACCP regulations
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Ability to work independently while ensuring high food quality and consistency
* Experience in budgeting and stock control
Responsibilities
* Managing daily kitchen operations within the canteen
* Planning and preparing menus that are cost-effective, nutritious, and appealing
* Leading and motivating a small team to maintain high food service standards
* Ensuring full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP regulations
* Stock management, ordering supplies, and controlling food waste
* Providing excellent customer service and accommodating dietary requirements
* Managing budgets and cost control to maximize efficiency
* Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
