MILLIMETRE DESIGN is a leading interior architecture, design and branding studio, active across a broad spectrum of industry sectors, including food, retail, experience, leisure and hospitality. We are seeking a Project Director to join our experienced Leadership Team to ensure the continued successful delivery of our portfolio of high profile design projects.
The Millimetre Design Project Director is an experienced interior architect/designer with a strong track record of delivering premium design projects across the hospitality, retail, and/or high-end residential sectors.
The role requires a diverse skillset, including client management, project management, team management and people development. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent organisational skills, eager to lead and develop design teams in a friendly, and positive working environment.
Job Main Purpose
Working with assigned project teams to design, plan, coordinate and deliver multiple design projects, from concept to completion.
Job Responsibilities
* Directing and guiding the design team to ensure all concepts positively reflect our client's brand image and meet their stated requirements (garnered through comprehensive discovery sessions)
* Leading, inspiring and developing the design team, igniting their passion to create innovative and highly creative design
* Planning and managing assigned portfolio of design projects, including oversight of on-site project teams as required (out-of-hours work may be required in line with project needs)
* Approving design project budgets and project fee schedules
* Planning and coordinating design team's workload to ensure adherence to agreed project milestones and agreed project hours
* Reporting on progress of projects at major stages of their conception, creation, and execution, including post-project close report· Anticipating problems that may impede a project from completing on time or within agreed hours (scope creep) and implementing solutions
* Reviewing and approving all project documentation and ensuring excellent project file management
* Ensuring all design concepts are in full compliance with current, relevant building regulations and in line with agreed project budget
* Managing client relationship and client satisfaction in a professional manner
* Maintaining regular & clear communication with clients, consultants and contractors·
* Participating in industry events to increase MMD's profile and encourage marketing and new business opportunities·
* Staying abreast of current developments, trends and practices within the interior design and construction industries. Disseminate information, as appropriate, to wider team.
* Driving the development and enhancement of studio design processes and procedures
* Contributing to the development of both short term and long-term organisational goals
Note: This list is not exhaustive. You will be required to perform such other duties as appropriate to the post, as may be assigned to you from time to time by a designated person. You will be required to assist with special functions, from time to time.
Candidate Profile
* 10+ years' experience delivering high value commercial interior design projects within an Irish or UK design practice of similar size
* Bachelor's degree in interior architecture, architecture or interior design
* Proficiency with Autocad and MS Office 365
* Quick thinker, leads by example, makes decisions and resolve problems efficiently
* Disciplined, hardworking and resilient
* Organized, with strong attention to detail
* Demonstrates commercial acumen in everyday transactions
* Quick to grasp new ideas/concepts, nurtures innovation and demonstrates a continuous improvement approach
* Applicants must currently be residing in Ireland and be fully registered to work here with all required visas, stamps, permit etc. in place to work full time.
Working hours:
9am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Location: Ongar, Dublin 15
