Social network you want to login/join with: Work Location: Dublin Tunnel Control Building, D03 NH33 or Jack Lynch Tunnel, Cork The Reliability Engineer is a critical member of the Asset Management team responsible for maximising the operational availability, performance, and lifecycle value of assets across the Dublin Tunnel (DT), Jack Lynch Tunnel (JLT), and the Motorway Operations Control Centre (MOCC).
Using data-led analysis, the Reliability Engineer will identify potential system failures, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and ensure maintenance strategies are optimised to reduce downtime, improve resilience, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
This role supports the implementation of a whole-of-life asset management approach under ISO 55001 and plays a key role in sustaining high performance across mechanical, electrical, SCADA, and IT infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAsset Reliability Analysis & Optimisation: Perform root cause analysis (RCA), fault trend analysis, and failure mode assessments for critical systems and equipment.
Use Maximo (MMS) data to analyse asset performance, reliability trends, and maintenance effectiveness across all Affected Properties.
Recommend modifications to maintenance regimes to increase Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
Work closely with the Maintenance and Project teams to embed predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track asset Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including availability, utilisation, failure rates, and lifecycle costs.
Develop and maintain dashboards and regular reports for internal teams and the Service Manager.
Support the Asset Manager in prioritising renewals and upgrades based on data-driven performance insights.
Technical Support: Provide technical input into the development of the Forward Capital Works Programme (FCWP) and Integrated Project Portfolio (IPP).
Evaluate spare part usage trends and support the Inventory Controller in managing Critical Spares.
Participate in the Change Control Process for proposed system modifications or upgrades.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to audits, safety inspections, and asset condition assessments to ensure continued compliance with ISO 55001 and regulatory obligations.
Drive continuous improvement in asset reliability and system uptime by collaborating across disciplines.
Maintain up-to-date documentation in Maximo and M-Files, including reliability plans, test data, and risk assessments.

Qualifications Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Reliability Engineering (or related discipline).
Minimum 3 years' experience in asset reliability, maintenance engineering, or performance analytics.
Strong proficiency with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (Maximo preferred).
Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, Weibull analysis, or similar reliability methodologies.
Familiarity with lifecycle costing and whole-of-life asset performance evaluation.
Desirable - Training or certification in reliability (e.g., Certified Reliability Engineer, CRE).
and ideally Experience using data analysis tools such as Power BI, R, or Python for engineering applications.
