Job Description
Our client, Bluestone Facilities Management Limited, based in Co. Laois, is currently seeking Plasterers for immediate start at their facility in Abbeyleix, Co. Laois.
Responsibilities
Carry out all aspects of internal and external plastering, including skimming, bonding, float and set, rendering, and dry lining.
Perform patch repairs and surface restoration works as part of reactive maintenance or refurbishment contracts.
Prepare walls and ceilings by cleaning, applying bonding agents, and levelling surfaces prior to plastering.
Apply various finishes such as sand/cement render, gypsum plaster, and decorative coatings as per project requirements.
Undertake ceiling and wall repairs following electrical or plumbing installations.
Work on occupied and unoccupied premises, ensuring minimal disruption to clients and maintaining a professional manner at all times.
Inspect and assess damaged areas, determine the required materials and methods, and provide feedback to supervisors.
Ensure all works are completed to specification, on time, and to a high standard of finish.
Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues or delays to the Site Manager.
Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, including correct use of PPE and safe work practices.
Maintain tools, materials, and equipment in good condition and report any defects.
Assist other trades (e.g., painters, carpenters, tilers) when required to support the overall facilities maintenance operation.
Qualifications
Ability to perform all job duties stated above.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in plastering, preferably within a facilities management, construction, or maintenance environment.
Strong knowledge of modern and traditional plastering techniques and materials.
Demonstrated ability to produce a high-quality finish across a variety of surfaces and environments.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering professional workmanship.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, site supervisors, and team members.
Self‑motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Compensation and Work Details
Annual remuneration: €36,605.00 (Pay rate €18.05 per hour). Work location: Bluestone Facilities Management Limited, Killamuck, Abbeyleix, Co. Laois, R32 YD86. Hours: 39 per week.
