Accounts & Compliance AssistantWe are recruiting anAccounts & Compliance Assistantfor a well-established, medium-sizedaccountancy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working across multiple client files, supporting year-end accounts, and ensuring full regulatory compliance.This role is central to the preparation, verification, and collation of financial data foryear-end procedures and outsourcing to external partners, while maintaining high standards ofaccuracy, organisation, and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts & Outsourcing SupportCheck opening balances on client accounting softwareEnsure bank reconciliations are completed and accurateVerify trade debtors and creditors listings against trial balancesCollate supporting documentation including bank statements, creditor statements, HP/lease agreements, insurance backups, and fixed asset invoicesRetrieve charges and payments from ROS (Revenue Online Service)Year-End & Accounting SupportAssist with preparation of month-end and year-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and basic depreciation entries (under supervision)Support year-end close processes and accountant reviewsCompliance & RegulatoryComplete and maintain Client Risk Assessments (CRAs) (roll-forward existing files and draft for new clients)Collect and verify KYC documentation (ID, utility bills, etc.)Maintain accurate and compliant client records in line with regulatory requirementsDrafting & DocumentationPrepare draft year-end pack documents including:MinutesLetters of RepresentationLetters of EngagementLoan agreementsDraft information request letters to clientsBank Loans & General AdministrationCollate information for bank loan applicationsPrepare tax affairs letters and turnover confirmation lettersManage correspondence related to financial and compliance mattersWhat We're Looking For1–3 years' experience in a Professional Accounting Practice (preferred, but strong junior candidates with the right attitude will be considered)Solid bookkeeping knowledge ; IATI qualified or part-qualified in a professional accounting qualification is highly desirableExperience managing multiple client files and understanding statutory requirements in practiceProficiency with Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and familiarity with Irish ROSExcellent organisational skills with strong attention to detailA proactive, reliable, and solution-focused approach to deadlines and workloadStrong willingness to learn and develop professionallyWhat We OfferStrong starting salaryCompany bonus scheme up to 10% after successful probationEarly finish on FridaysFlexible working hoursHybrid working – up to 2 days per week from homeSupportive environment with ongoing learning and developmentAccounts Assistant, Compliance Assistant, Accounting Practice, Bookkeeping, Year-End Accounts, CRAs, KYC, ROS, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Irish Accounting Jobs, Ashbourne Jobs, Hybrid Accounting Role, Practice Accounting
