The NPD Assistant supports the New Product Development Manager in bringing new lighting products from concept through to production. This role coordinates documentation, prototypes, testing, and cross-functional communication to ensure new lighting products are developed efficiently, meet quality standards, and are ready for manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
* Support NPD projects from concept, prototype, pilot build, and production release
* Assist with coordination of prototypes, samples, and pre-production builds
* Prepare and maintain product documentation including BOMs, drawings, work instructions, and specifications
* Liaise with production, engineering, purchasing, and quality teams to support product launches
* Assist with testing and validation of lighting products
* Track project timelines, actions, and deliverables for NPD projects
* Support design changes and product updates during development
* Help manage supplier samples and component approvals (LEDs, drivers, optics, housings)
* Participate in design reviews and production readiness meetings
* Ensure compliance with relevant lighting standards and certifications (e.g., CE, UL, IEC, RoHS)
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualification in engineering, product design, manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
* Experience in a manufacturing or NPD environment preferred
* Basic understanding of lighting products, electronics, or mechanical assemblies
* Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
* Strong organisational and documentation skills
* Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Skills & Competencies
* Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ERP/MRP systems a plus
* Familiarity with CAD systems (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) advantageous
* Attention to detail and structured approach to work
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
* Problem-solving mindset with willingness to learn
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to €38,000.00 per year
Ability to commute/relocate:
* Mullan, County Monaghan: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
