Job Title: Lecturer of Physiotherapy
Portobello Institute is committed to providing excellence in accessible, practitioner-focused education and qualifications. We are seeking Physiotherapists with academic knowledge and expertise to join our staff as a Lecturer on our MSc Physiotherapy (pre-registration) programme.
The person appointed will have a proven record of teaching and experience integrating theory into practice. They should demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of the wider determinants of health and wellbeing including psychological, social and cultural.
They must be able provide students with a range of practical skills relating to relevant models, frameworks and approaches in delivering person-centred rehabilitation services through effective communication techniques and technologies.
They should demonstrate an understanding of the process of continued professional development, planning and reflective practice.
Possess an advanced evidenced-based knowledge of the psychological factors that influence and determine the person's response to injury or diagnosis of a long-term condition, rehabilitation and recovery.
They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the development of the programme, undertake teaching and learner support. The MSc Physiotherapy (pre-registration) programme is delivered on a full-time (weekday) basis.

Principal Duties
Are assigned by the Academic Manager and Programme Manager
The duties will include:
* Teaching and assessing students at postgraduate level. This will include lecturing, tutoring, leading practical learning activities, setting, supervising and grading assessments.
* Planning and developing learning materials.
* Providing online support to learners using the E-Learning portal provided.
* Weekly moderation and/or update of E-Learning Portal and Discussion boards.
* Responding to students' email queries relating to your modules
* Provision of formative feedback to students to support high quality teaching and learning.
* Contributing as required to the assurance and enhancement of teaching quality.
* Developing, enhancing and reviewing the content of your modules
* Maintaining and enhancing the collaborative partnership with Portobello Institute's accrediting University Partner
* Undertaking academic quality standards review.
* Attending and serving on committees as appropriate.
* Attending bi-weekly academic team meetings .
The ideal candidate will preferably have:
· Qualified Physiotherapist registered with CORU or HCPC
· A relevant postgraduate qualification e.g., Masters or PhD in Physiotherapy or related fields.
· Two years teaching experience in higher education
· A range of clinical experience
· Knowledge and expertise relating to Physiotherapy syllabus and curriculum.
Remuneration:
Payment done on a block module basis, not hourly. Further information available on request.
