TITLE: General Labourer

LOCATION: Limerick/Clare Area

REPORTS TO: Site Manager/Construction Project Manager

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE: Hourly Pay

Supermac’s is hiring a General Labourer to join the construction team for the new Ennis Plaza (M18) project in the Ennis area.

"This is a fixed-term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent."

Purpose Of The Role

The General Labourer is responsible for supporting a wide range of construction activities on site, ensuring work areas are safe, clean, and organised. This role plays a key part in the smooth running of construction operations by assisting tradespeople, moving materials, performing manual tasks, and following site safety procedures at all times. The position is physically demanding and requires flexibility, reliability, and a strong commitment to health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities


* Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials on site
* Support trades and other operatives with general construction duties
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment
* Operate basic hand and power tools as directed (if trained)
* Follow instructions from site management and work as part of a team
* Report any hazards or safety concerns promptly

Person Specification

Qualifications / Certification:

* Valid Safe Pass (Essential)
* Valid Manual Handling Certificate (Essential)

Experience

* Previous experience working on a construction site (Desirable)
* Experience using basic hand and power tools (Desirable)

Skills And Competencies

* Clear understanding of site health and safety protocols
* Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
* Good communication skills in English – both written and spoken
* Strong teamwork and reliability

Other Requirements

* Right to work in Ireland (Essential)
* Own transport (Desirable)

Work Environment

This role is based on an active construction site, involving outdoor work in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain. The work is physically demanding and may require prolonged periods of standing, walking, lifting, and bending. Employees must maintain a high awareness of their surroundings and adhere to all HSA and CIF safety regulations at all times.
