OverviewPrototype Electrical Engineer Npd Ops role in Cork focusing on prototype build and iteration guided by engineering prints, schematics, BOMs, and build notes. Roles involve collaboration with design engineers and cross-functional partners to support rapid prototyping and buildability feedback.ResponsibilitiesBuild prototypes to engineer-provided prints (drawings, schematics, BOMs, build notes) and follow technical guidelines/work instructions where available.Use standard lab equipment to support build verification and fault-finding, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, LCR meters, power supplies, electronic loads, and signal generators (where applicable).Perform rework/repair and prototype modifications to support iteration (component swaps, jumper wiring, connector changes, repair of damaged pads/tracks where appropriate).Work with small components (fine-pitch parts, small passives, delicate connectors) using appropriate tools (microscope, hot air, etc. where applicable).Read and interpret technical information including complex schematics, pinouts, assembly drawings, and manuals; highlight ambiguities early.Collaborate with design engineers and cross-functional partners to clarify requirements, prioritise builds, and communicate status/blockers.Provide pragmatic prototyping/buildability guidance to design teams when needed (connector selection, wiring approach, assembly sequence, parts availability/substitutions, fixture ideas).Maintain excellent lab discipline and housekeeping (ESD practices, tool control, organised benches, consumables management, safe working).Support and guide Co-ops/Interns on build methods, workmanship expectations, and lab best practice.Minimum Qualifications (Required)Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline & 0+ years of work experiencePreferred QualificationsTechnical Skills: Basic knowledge of electrical components and manufacturing methodsBasic ability to read and interpret electrical drawingsBasic understanding of the electrical design processKnowledge of design and concept generation CAD, CAE, or simulation toolsKnowledge of analysis tools and statistical methodsKnowledge of system components and associated requirementsCompany / Equal OpportunityStryker is an equal opportunity employer.
