Our client, a leader in the Pharmaceutical Industry is seeking a Scientist (PDS&T Bioassay) to join their team in their Westport Facility.
Job Summary:
Independently generate precise, reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner. Demonstrate experimental precision and strong data interpretation skills and should possess understanding of core discipline.
Responsibilities:
1. Completely follow established experimental protocols and assess results with supervision.
2. Recognise and report experimental variances.
3. Learn and effectively implement new experimental protocols and/or techniques.
4. Maintain laboratory equipment and optimise laboratory operations for efficient use of time and laboratory supplies and reagents, when appropriate.
5. Perform routine tasks competently and independently and generate reliable and consistent results.
6. Analyse and critique results, noting significant deviations.
7. Learn and understand new experimental techniques.
8. Demonstrate technical proficiency in his/her field. Demonstrate skill in multiple techniques and appropriately modify protocols, as required.
9. Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation. Impact projects mostly through lab-based activities.
10. Apply basic scientific principles to research.
11. Prepare buffers and solutions required for testing
12. Enter laboratory results on sample management systems
13. Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable.
Requirements:
14. Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent education, with typically 6-12 months experience or Master's Degree or equivalent education.
15. Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out job function.
16. GMP Experience
17. Experience in procurement and/or shipping and/or sample management
18. Ability to work independently
19. Bioassay/Cell culture/ELISA experience
