Position Summary:
The Polisher (Mechanical Assembler) will follow process instructions and blueprints to polish components and work with other departments to repair equipment for the biopharmaceutical industry. Polishers will have the chance to work in a fast-paced environment on industry-leading equipment.
Responsibilities:
* Polish equipment accurately and with proper procedures in a timely manner.
* Maintain a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Have knowledge of all types of hand tools and measuring devices.
* Work on stainless steel finishing, including but not limited to:
* Operate hand grinders
* Perform polishing
* Perform NDT/Liquid Penetrant testing on all inside welds of electro-polished vessels
* Install and maintain utility/service lines
* Operate overhead crane and/or forklift
* Inspect and maintain proper and safe operation of all shop equipment
* Recommend improvements
* Execute other tasks as assigned
* Travel when required
* Actively participate in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities
Qualifications:
* Education: Leaving Certificate or equivalent
* Experience in similar operations required
* Must be eligible to work in Ireland
* Additional Requirements:
* Ability to perform simple math equations
* Ability to read a tape measure
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Exceptional verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in using hand tools and basic fabrication tools
* Self-motivated
* Proficiency in reading blueprints
* Work typically in a manufacturing environment or at the customer’s site
* Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plus
