Position DescriptionTechnology plays a leading role in enabling and delivering ESB's strategy of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040, but it's our people who will make this Brighter Future a reality. With over 800 people working across our IT Delivery and Chief Information Office (CIO) functions, together we design, build and support a broad range of technologies and services to deliver on our mission to bring sustainable and competitive energy solutions to all customers. We achieve this by harnessing all our resources, investing in our people and working collaboratively together.IT Project Delivery is responsible for the delivery of all IT Projects and Products in ESB's IT Capital work programme. Working within our Project Delivery team, you will be part of a highly motivated and skilled team of IT Professionals working to achieve maximum value for our customers and all our IT investments across a range of technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesThe IT Project Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the project on behalf of the Project Board including:Develop and manage the project plan and documentation, oversee resource allocation, and update initial estimates as necessary throughout the project's lifecycle.Prepare project reports (including Issue Reports, Exception Reports and End Stage Reports as required) to PMO standards.Issue reports to agreed schedules to the Project Board and PMO.Escalate issues to the Project Board as required, such as deviations from the plan using appropriate Change Control procedures.Lead, motivate project team members and manage key stakeholder directly related to project deliverablesEnsure that all project team functions are carried out either directly or through appointed project team members (including Communications, Change Control and Team Management).Delivers results that fulfil the objectives outlined in the Business Case while maintaining the requisite standards of quality.EssentialExperience and QualificationsMinimum 5 years' relevant project management experience, including relevant IT experience with the proven ability to deliver small-medium scale IT projects and Products, managing teams in a multi-vendor environment.Experience of industry-standard project management methodologies, specifically Agile, Hybrid, Waterfall / PRINCE2.Track record in successfully delivering projects to agreed controls.Self-motivator, problem solver with excellent communications and stakeholder management skills.Highly organised planning and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.Proven leadership and effective decision-making capabilitie.DesirablePRINCE2 Practitioner Project Management certification.Certification in Agile project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 Agile and/or SCRUM software development framework would be an advantage.LocationThis position will be based in Fitzwilliam 27, ESB's new Head Office, Dublin.ESB is committed to smart working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible ways of working. The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at leasttwoanchor days per week.
