We’re working with a leading Tier 1 Contractor in their search for an experienced Site Manager to join an upcoming project in Cork.
Key Responsibilities as Construction Site Manager
* Positively and actively drive towards an embedded HS&E culture, creating a continually progressive environment that emphasizes safety as our number one core value.
* Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project.
* Support all aspects of Project Team functions, including PEP, Risk & Commercial Success, Financials, Processes, HSEQS, Stakeholder Management, Project Administration, Design Management, and Project Close Out.
* Support the Project Execution Plan, with specific reference to the HSE & Quality plan.
* Prepare contract reports and, with the QS, provide updates for monthly cost meetings.
* Plan, organize, and direct activities related to the construction of structures, facilities, and systems.
* Develop project plans and schedules, and execute them to achieve desired outcomes.
* Coordinate project activities according to the company’s Quality System, Standard Quality Procedures, and Engineering Specifications.
* Meet objectives related to timely delivery, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
* Maintain a ‘right first time’ philosophy throughout the project lifecycle.
* Attend regular meetings with clients, architects, and consultants, and keep them informed of progress.
* Oversee quality management and BCAR coordination, ensuring quality control and safety compliance on site.
* Handle technical queries and interface with clients, consultants, and architects regarding RFIs.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or Construction Management).
* Experience preferably within a main or specialist contractor.
* Deep knowledge of the construction industry and project execution.
* Proficient with MS Office, project management, or similar scheduling software.
* Strong understanding of safety and quality management.
* Ability to lead confidently, mentor, and motivate staff.
