Overview of the role
The Project Manager (Proposals) will be responsible for leading, developing and managing a team to deliver competitive and accurate Water & Wastewater DB/DBO cost proposals. The role involves liaising, negotiating and managing relationships with clients while protecting Veolia's interests. It will also work closely with supply chain, partners, subcontractors, and internal teams (engineering, proposals, contracts, procurement) to ensure competitive tenders are delivered successfully and on time.
Duties of the Role
Lead and manage a portfolio of proposals
Lead and manage a team of engineers involved in developing costs & solutions
Ownership of commercial and technical aspects of the proposals process
Collaborative interaction with the clients to develop cost models
Play an integral part in the design and engineering development process
Collaborate with the delivery team to ensure lessons learned are applied and peer reviews are carried out in a timely manner
Interact and manage supply partners and supply chain during target cost development phase
Develop accurate and competitive target costs
Select suitable partners, technologies, equipment and vendors including sourcing alternative vendors
Identify risks and apportion costs and responsibilities; agree program of work with partners
Adhere to all internal Governance procedures
Required Skills for This Role
Accredited NFQ Level 8 Honors Bachelor Degree in relevant discipline
5+ years relevant post‑qualification experience in tendering or execution of water/wastewater engineering projects (more experienced candidates considered)
Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment industry
Extensive knowledge of current market conditions
Highly organized and efficient
Strong problem‑solving skills
Numerate and highly computer literate
Analytical and visionary mindset
Effective time‑management and communication skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure, whilst ensuring deadlines are met
Self‑sustaining engineer/manager capable of working individually and as part of a team
Proven commitment to continued professional development
Customer‑focused, self‑motivated, flexible
Competent user of Microsoft Office
