R&D Product Validation Specialist
Our client, a market leader in smart home life safety devices and IoT innovation, is seeking a highly skilled R&D product validation specialist to join their dynamic development team.
This role plays a vital part in the product development lifecycle by ensuring products meet the highest quality, safety, and compliance standards before reaching the market.
The successful candidate will work at the forefront of electronic and IoT validation, testing both hardware and software in a hands-on R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Full Lifecycle Product Validation: Validate new smart home devices, including alarm systems, IoT sensors, RF modules, and connected gateways.
2. Extend validation to mobile applications, user interfaces, and cloud portals.
3. Hardware Prototyping & Electrical Testing: Assemble and build prototypes. Perform a range of electrical safety and compliance tests, including ESD, surge, and transient testing.
4. Issue Diagnosis & Resolution: Work closely with R&D and design engineers to identify and troubleshoot issues in circuit design, firmware, and system integration.
5. Test Planning & Reporting: Develop and execute structured validation plans. Accurately document test processes and outcomes, contributing to technical reports and quality records.
6. Quality Assurance Support: Ensure all products meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
7. Support continuous improvement and documentation of validation processes.
Candidate Profile:
Essential Experience & Skills:
* Minimum 2 years hands-on experience testing electronic hardware and embedded software ideally in IoT, home security, or consumer electronics.
* Strong understanding of electronics principles and proficiency in reading and interpreting circuit schematics.
* Skilled in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
* Confident in soldering and rework, including surface mount technology (SMT).
* Excellent problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and structured analytical thinking.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing tasks in alignment with project timelines.
* Degree or qualification in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Desirable Experience:
* Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Lab View).
* Familiarity with defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
* Comfortable working with mains-powered devices.
* Holding a relevant QA certification (e.g., ISTQB) would be a plus.
