Offer description

The team is global in scope and its responsibilities include monitoring, analyzing and advising on regulatory developments, responding to regulatory proposals and consultations, supporting the implementation of regulatory-driven operational and policy changes, advising on the regulatory implications of new services models, and addressing regulatory matters arising in the context of Oracle’s sales, marketing and transactional activities. Through this work, the Financial Services Legal team plays a key role in advancing Oracle’s commercial objectives while managing its risks and maintaining its commitment to legal and regulatory compliance.
The Role & Core Responsibilities
Oracle is seeking an experienced lawyer to join the Financial Services Legal team as Senior Corporate Counsel. This is a new role created in response to developments in the regulatory landscape that affect Oracle as a service provider to key regulated sectors, such as the European Union’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and other regimes around the world. In this role, you will provide critical support to Oracle in its compliance journey by helping to design and implement frameworks, policies and processes that enable the company to meet its obligations under applicable regulations while managing its risk. You will partner with internal stakeholders and serve as a trusted advisor who can drive the changes needed to enable Oracle to achieve its compliance goals. Importantly, you will also help manage Oracle’s engagement and relationships with regulators, including ensuring that communications are accurate, consistent, timely and aligned with internal policies and legal advice, and helping the company prepare for and respond to regulatory oversight activities.
As a member of the Financial Services Legal team, you will join a collaborative group of professionals working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment where no two days are the same. Your knowledge and experience will allow you to thrive in this environment and to hit the ground running. You will be comfortable managing multiple tasks with instinctively good judgment and take a proactive, solutions-driven approach to your work.
Key Requirements

Practicing lawyer with 4-6 years of relevant post-qualification experience gained at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department
Located in the European Union (ideally Ireland or the Netherlands) or the United Kingdom
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks in the financial services sector including DORA
Experience in dealing with regulators and managing regulatory supervision
