FT provides design and contract management services for infrastructure projects including roads, greenways, bridgeworks, rail, waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage, water and wastewater treatment, airports, tunnels, and pipelines.Role OverviewFT seeks an Associate Director for Highways and Active Travel to join our Infrastructure team in Cork, Carlow, or Dublin. Candidates should have at least 15 years of experience. The successful candidate will work on diverse projects such as national roads, greenways, active travel schemes, and major highway projects. This role offers a clear pathway to a Director position within the company.ResponsibilitiesLeading multidisciplinary design teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.Managing project portfolios, including client relations and communication.Mentoring junior Project Managers and supervising staff within the sector.Planning and managing design work collaboratively with engineering leads and technicians.Preparing technical reports and tender documents.Coordinating with project and infrastructure teams.Ensuring compliance with quality assurance and health & safety legislation.Qualifications & SkillsDegree in Civil Engineering or related field and Chartered Engineer status.Minimum of 15 years post-graduate experience in highways, greenways, and active travel project design and management, including Irish projects following TII or NTA guidelines.Experience with design-build projects is advantageous.Strong management experience across multidisciplinary teams.Client engagement and stakeholder management skills.Budget management experience.Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Proactive, flexible team player willing to travel.Full Driver’s License.Additional DetailsAn attractive package will be offered, including a competitive salary, shorter Friday work hours, medical benefits, and professional support.
