RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.
We are hiring a
Senior Cardiac Physiologist
to a Hospital in Ireland.
Responsibilities
Perform and supervise a full range of non-invasive and invasive cardiac diagnostic tests (ECG, Holter/BP monitoring, Stress ECG, tilt table, pacemaker/ICD implants, EP studies, angiography, angioplasty).
Maintain strong knowledge and accurate measurement skills for all cardiac diagnostic procedures, including electrophysiology.
Communicate effectively with consultants, GPs, and staff, ensuring timely completion and delivery of test results.
Maintain departmental documentation, medical records, and ensure equipment is serviced, safe, and functioning properly.
Develop and update cardiology policies, procedures, and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Administer medications according to hospital policy, uphold infection control standards, and ensure a safe working environment.
Train, supervise, and support new staff; assist in evaluating cardiac physiologists and act as deputy to the Chief Physiologist when required.
Stay updated on advancements in cardiology, participate in training, education sessions, and maintain a professional portfolio.
Support induction and education of new staff, contribute to identifying training needs, and enhance learning opportunities.
Uphold professional conduct, maintain patient privacy, participate in meetings, incident reporting, and carry out additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
BSc in Clinical Measurement from Technological University Dublin/Dublin Institute of Technology, or an equivalent Level 8 scientific qualification recognised by the IICMP.
For candidates qualified on or before ****: Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from DIT, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the IICMP.
Minimum of three years' post-qualification experience in a Cardiac Department, including experience in a Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory and cardiac pacing.
Electrophysiology experience is desirable.
Advanced Life Support certification required.
Strong general knowledge of cardiology.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Motivated with an innovative approach to work.
Demonstrates strong clinical competence and relevant cardiology experience.
Ability to contribute to service development and stay updated on advancements in the speciality.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Clear and concise communication skills, including the ability to give understandable instructions to patients.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
