Job Title: Theatre Registered General Nurse
A theatre registered general nurse will work in an operating theatre environment, providing patient care to patients undergoing surgery and promoting their safety and comfort throughout the perioperative period.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Be a registered nurse with at least 1-2 years of post-registration experience in acute care nursing.
- Have previous nursing experience in specialized areas, which should be indicated on your CV.
- Hold a postgraduate qualification or relevant educational course (desirable).
- Have experience with electronic health records (desirable).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in collaboration with the surgical and anaesthetic team.
- Evaluating operating room patients and plans, implementing and documenting clinical nursing care.
- Ensuring all patient documentation is complete in line with hospital policy.
- Promoting a patient-focused approach to care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Maintaining a safe clinical environment.
- Being an effective member of the surgical team as a scrub, circulating, or anaesthetic practitioner, demonstrating leadership qualities and communication skills.
- Preparing patients for procedures, ensuring they are fully informed about their treatment and addressing any concerns they may have.
- Demonstrating safe and effective infection control practices.
