Job Title: Food & Beverage Server

Department: Food & Beverage

Type of Contract: Seasonal - Fixed

Main Purpose of Job: To provide a friendly and efficient service within the dining and any other food service areas, dispensing both food and beverage orders accurately, with courtesy to the standard required according to legislation and the internal standards set out by Trump International Doonbeg.

Liaises with: Culinary Department, Stewarding, Front Desk, Managers on Duty

Responsible To: Restaurant Manager

MAIN DUTIES

1. Arrives to work on time, appropriately groomed and in the correct uniform.
2. Prepares tables to the appropriate standard with linen, silverware, glasses, flatware, and refills condiments.
3. Maintains familiarity with all menu items, specials, and restaurant information.
4. Meets with Manager, Serving staff, and Chef regularly to learn about menu changes, specials, upcoming reservations, special events, and guests with special needs.
5. Assists host or hostess by answering phones, taking reservations, greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
6. Welcomes and escorts guests to their tables upon arrival.
7. Introduces guests to the menu, announces specials, and responds to questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and allergens.
8. Describes and recommends wines, responds to questions.
9. Explains how menu items are prepared, ingredients, and cooking methods.
10. Takes guest orders and conveys them accurately to culinary staff via POS system.
11. Brings wine to the table, opens, and pours for guests.
12. Collects and verifies food orders, serves to guests.
13. Ensures guest satisfaction and processes additional orders as needed.
14. Adheres to the five-star service standard.
15. Provides information about the property and local area, including directions.
16. Removes used dishes, glasses, and flatware from tables.
17. Prepares and delivers checks, processes payments.
18. Performs cleaning duties: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, tidying, dusting, polishing.
19. Addresses customer concerns professionally and notifies management.
20. Ensures no underage alcohol service and compliance with tobacco regulations.
21. Responds promptly to guest requests.
22. Sets up for the next shift.
23. Works varying schedules, including day, evening, or weekends, as required by the business.
24. Participates in training programs as required.

OTHER DUTIES

The above is not exhaustive; you may be asked to perform other duties as directed by management.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA

* Previous food and beverage experience is an advantage.
* Knowledge of five-star hospitality preferred.
* Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Customer-focused attitude.
* Ability to operate at a high standard.
* Positive, can-do attitude.
* Flexible working hours.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Must be over 18 for alcohol service.
* Additional languages are a plus.
