Job Title: Maintenance AssistantThe award-winning Lake Hotel has an exciting career opportunity available for an ambitious and hardworking individual with a broad skillset and an eagerness to learn.Department: Maintenance / EngineeringReports to: Operations & Facilities ManagerThe Maintenance Assistant supports the day-to-day upkeep of the hotel, ensuring that all guest bedrooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and external grounds are maintained to a high standard. This role is hands-on and varied, covering general maintenance tasks to help provide a safe, comfortable, and well-presented environment for guests and staff.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Maintenance· Carry out day-to-day maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical repairs, painting, carpentry, tiling, and general repairs· Assist with maintenance of guest bedrooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas· Respond promptly to maintenance requestsPreventative Maintenance· Assist in completing scheduled preventative maintenance checks· Report any safety concerns, or required repairs to the Maintenance Manager· Maintain tools and equipment in good working orderHealth, Safety & Compliance· Follow all health & safety procedures and hotel policies· Assist with fire safety checks, emergency lighting tests, and safety inspections· Ensure work areas are kept clean, safe, and tidyLandscaping & External Areas· Assist with upkeep of hotel grounds, gardens, pathways, and car parks· Support seasonal outdoor maintenance such as planting, painting, and weather-related worksContractor & Team Support· Assist external contractors with refurbishment and other work when required· Work closely with Housekeeping and other departments to minimise disruption to guestsGuest Interaction· Respond politely and professionally to guest maintenance issues· Carry out repairs discreetly and efficiently to maintain guest satisfactionSkills & Experience Required· Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman, or facilities role (hotel experience desirable but not essential)· Knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, and general building maintenance· Ability to work independently and as part of a team· Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail· Flexible and willing to assist across a variety of tasksQualifications (Desirable)· Relevant trade or maintenance-related qualification· Manual handling and health & safety trainingKey benefits and perks· Competitive terms and conditions· High quality complimentary meals provided while on duty· High quality training and advancement opportunities within the hotel· Membership in our employee team which organises team outings / fun events· Employee Awards for high achievers· Free car parkingJob Type: Full-timeRate of pay: from €16 per hourJob Type: Full-timePay: From €16.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:On-site parkingWork Location: In person
