Hydrologist and Hydraulic Modeller Job Description
* Spearhead strategic flood risk assessments for land-use plans in the UK and Ireland, overseeing surveys, hydrological estimation, and statistical analysis.
* Perform site-specific flood risk assessments for different developments and offer guidance on structural and drainage considerations to relevant teams.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves collaborating with colleagues from various disciplines, providing support during Oral Hearings, and mentoring junior staff.
Additionally, it includes managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines while maintaining excellent communication and report writing skills.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and project management skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Requirements
* Eight years of relevant experience and an Honours degree in civil or environmental engineering.
* Expertise in hydrological estimation methodologies, strategic and site-specific flood risk assessments.
* 1D-2D flood modeling, particularly with software like ICM.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
