Program Director, Product Development
This is a leadership role that involves overseeing the development of new products from feasibility to deployment. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on predictability and time-to-market, with experience in leading multi-disciplinary programs to bring systems to market.
The program director will be responsible for collaborating with business unit leadership to define, manage, and own program scope. This includes creating detailed work breakdown structures, developing and managing program Gantt charts, analyzing critical path and major workstreams, and owning the program schedule.
A key aspect of this role is the ability to partner with project teams to create program quality plans using various quality planning tools and techniques. The program director will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining plans, developing risk management plans, and identifying and analyzing project risks.
Additionally, the program director will develop and execute communications management plans for the program team, key stakeholders, and business leaders. This includes building successful working relationships with internal and external personnel in various departments and understanding quality systems.
In terms of qualifications, the ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least 8 years of work experience, with 5+ years of project management experience preferred. A strong background in a scientific or engineering field is desired, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Project and/or Smartsheet's Microsoft Suite.
The program director will play a critical role in ensuring the success of new product development initiatives, and will be expected to demonstrate good judgment, weigh benefits and risks, and make solid decisions despite ambiguity.
