Social Care Worker Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Care Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a community-based setting.

This is a permanent full-time position, and successful candidates will be responsible for delivering all aspects of care and support through a person-centred approach. You will work closely with residents to understand their health, social, and emotional needs, and develop strategies to meet these requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities, a strong understanding of HIQA Standards and other relevant legislative requirements, and excellent communication skills. They will also be flexible, motivated, and enthusiastic about providing high-quality care.

As a Social Care Worker, you will demonstrate a commitment to promoting the rights of people with disabilities, supporting residents to achieve their full potential, and ensuring they maintain their independence in all aspects of life. A full clean manual driving licence and willingness to drive as part of the role are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a community-based setting
• Deliver all aspects of care and support through a person-centred approach
• Understand and meet the health, social, and emotional needs of residents
• Develop and implement strategies to promote independence and well-being
• Demonstrate a commitment to promoting the rights of people with disabilities
• Maintain accurate records and reports as required

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities
• Strong understanding of HIQA Standards and other relevant legislative requirements
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and non-verbal)
• Ability to work flexibly and respond to changing circumstances
• Commitment to promoting the rights of people with disabilities
• Relevant third-level qualification in social care or a related field
